Written by Edward (Ted) Kennedy, Jr. to Stacy Dutton
I remember when I had my crush on Fred's daughter Stacy in 7th or 8th grade, and told my father about this beautiful, terrific girl named Stacy Dutton. He asked me "Is she Fred Dutton's daughter?" When I affirmed that she was, he said to me "Well, she must be pretty smart, too, because her father is one of the most brilliant people that I have ever known!"
I remember thinking "Wow, this girl must be special" but also how rarely my father paid compliments like this.
